GO-YO!

Gender Odyssey Youth Online! is an online social group for gender diverse kids under the age of 11.

Our 2020 pilot cohorts met weekly, for six weeks to connect, play games, and be heard. Based on the generous and positive feedback of both the kids and parents, we will be launching more of these groups in 2021. To be alerted to new sessions, be sure to sign up for our newsletters.

Parent(s) must already be a member of Trans Families to attend.

Youth Zoom Group

Our youth (middle school-aged, up to 22) gather to learn, talk, laugh, and share insights about their gender journeys.  We use breakout rooms so everyone can have age-appropriate conversations about what’s going on in their lives.  Sometimes there are games.

These groups are facilitated by trained trans adults and mentors, many of whom attended our groups when they were younger.

2nd Sunday of the month, 2-3:30 pm PT / 5-6:30 pm ET.

Parent(s) must already be a member of Trans Families to attend.

TYTAN

Trans Youth Taking Action Now is a leadership program for trans teens and young adults.

Our TYTANs work with mentors to explore and develop leadership skills like storytelling, facilitation, public speaking, mentorship, and grant/scholarship writing. Our mentors are all trans, non-binary, or ally-activists with experience in these areas and a passion for fostering youth agency and confidence.

This is a 9-month cohort program. Each participant completes an application and interview, and receives a monthly stipend.

Some recent highlights:

  • 2020 TYTANs developed and produced a live chat show called ‘Let’s talk Gender.’
  • 2019 TYTANs led several workshops and activities at the Gender Odyssey Conference.
  • 2018 TYTANs facilitated middle-school youth groups and presented at Gender Odyssey Conference.

Participants must already be active in Trans Families groups to apply.
